Feather Sound sits in mid-Pinellas between Clearwater and St. Petersburg, near I-275 and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. It is a named community and CDP, not a beach town and not downtown Tampa. The draw is a quieter street with a short hop to both bridges and both downtowns.

People mix it up with mainland Clearwater or with Carillon. Carillon is the office and condo pocket closer to Ulmerton. Feather Sound is the residential and country-club side. Confirm the plat line on the listing if a saved search looks thin.

Who it fits

It fits buyers who want a larger house or townhome, a garage, and a commute that can point to Tampa or to the beaches without living on Gulf Boulevard. Golf-course and some water views show up here. It is a weaker fit if you want a walk-to-Pier-60 condo, a 55+ campus, or a historic bungalow. For the beach file use Clearwater Beach. For a porch neighborhood use Historic Kenwood.

Housing mix

Typical product is single-family from the 1980s forward, plus townhomes and some condos tied to the country club and nearby streets. Lots can run larger than a standard Clearwater grid lot. A water or golf view is not automatic. Confirm the listing photo, the lot lines, and any association.

Live inventory here can be thin. A four-home snapshot is still this community. Do not treat a small active count as a price crash.

What buyers should know

Some streets have an HOA or a country-club membership conversation. Some do not. Read the title work and the association docs on the address you want. A neighbor's rumor is not the estoppel.
